And I Thought It was 'just itchiness'. + Pretty PICTURES

Everyone told me how Chickenpox was nothing to be worried about. Just a bit of itchiness, ugly red blisters all over, and then, good as new!

They were wrong.
And Sal. You were wrong.

Its way more than that. My whole body hurts so bad! I have abdominal pain, really bad back and neck aches, slight headaches, and yes- even ear aches.
Plus those ugly little fuckers, are EVER-FUCKING-WHERE.
Excuse my potty mouth please.
I'm in pain.

And so I googled CP, cause thats what google is for, and SEE? I'm not making it up!
So whoever is excusing me of being a drama queen? Shut up.

Chickenpox (varicella) is often heralded by a prodrome of anorexia, myalgia, nausea, fever, headache, sore throat, pain in both ears, complaints of pressure in head or swollen face, and malaise in adolescents and adults, while in children the first symptom is usually the development of a papular rash, followed by development of malaise, fever (a body temperature of 38 °C (100 °F), but may be as high as 42 °C (108 °F) in rare cases), and anorexia. Rarely cough, rhinitis, abdominal pain, and gastrointestinal distress has been reported in patients with varicella. Typically, the disease is more severe in adults.

It also says:

To relieve the symptoms of chicken pox, people commonly use anti-itching creams and lotions. These lotions are not to be used on the face or close to the eyes.

And of course, WHY would my doctor feel the need to tell me that? FML.

And did you know, in some cases, Chickenpox can be fatal?

Yeah. Just my luck.

So, anyway, now on to the good stuff?

I went to Lahore for a week in the beginning of the month. From there, we went up north, to the beautiful valleys of Naran and Kaghan.
It was breathtakingly beyooooooooooooooooooooootiful there!
And we had so much fun! The bus rides (we rented a bus), the stops in funny hotels, the gorgeous scenery, the river rafting, the picnics by the river side, collecting pretty pebbles, the jeep rides- with the rugged mountains on one side, and a sheer 347534587357 feet drop on the other... *sigh*. I guess now that I'm actually moving to Lahore, trips like that wont be so rare. I guess that's one of upsides of moving.
But the downsides still suck.

Anyway, feast your eyes on Pakistan's beauty guys! This is obviously not all of it- its just like a 1% glimpse.

The view from our rooms.

River rafting! This is on the calmer parts of the river.

Don't you love my shoes? The water was so cold, it was threatening to give me frostbite.

Passing through a glacier in our rented jeep.

Pretty flowers.

Funny Hotels- Exhibit A. {No, seriously, who DOES that?}

Can you hear the water? Whenever I look at this picture, the music of roaring waves always fill my head.

 Lovely, no?
If you want the full effect, click on them to enlarge! My blog is retarded and I don't know hot to post bigger pictures. (Help please?).

And yes, I am the owner of all these, I have taken them all.

Comment and let me know what you think of these, if you've been on an amazing holiday-place this summer and most importantly, MOVIE AND BOOK SUGGESTIONS!
Because as we all know, chickenpox is aka ISOLATION. And I need something to keep my mind of the pain/itching.

On another note, here is my formspring!

  2. I LOVE KAGHAN AND NARAN. MY FAVORITEST PLACES EVER!!!!

Also get well soon =) I had chicken pox when I was younger so it wasn't that bad. It is supposed to be MUCH MUCH worse when you're older. My mom had them when she was at hajj. And those days they didnt have acs in the tents so she had to sleep on the rocky ground under the heat in that condition. Also, that was the year there was a huge fire at hajj and in the stampede people kept poking each other with sticks. Imagine. You're better off. I'm sure you feel you are ;)

  6. Moments in trouble, are the moments when you feel your pain and realize how sedating this pain is when others are feelings same.

And the best remedy is doing ‘hamd’ of your creator , when you are in pain.
