That awkward moment when your brother refuses to acknowledge your name.

..And calls you by your sister's.

Meet my brother Iboo. [You might remember I tried to give him away once. My mom didn't let me :C]
Aka Ibrahim, but I like to mess up his name as much as I can, and so we have Ibzoo, Bibeen, Been Been, and my Mom's fav, Iboo Shani, which seriously doesn't even make sense [well, neither do the others but this one takes the cake, k?], but moms *shakes head*, what can ya do right?

So Iboo just came from Karachi, two weeks ago, where my Mom and Dad live. My sisters and I live in Lahore with my grandmother. Its a long story, and no, no ones divorced or had a fight... YET... ;)
But yeah, thats how it is.
So my mom visits us here pretty regularly , like once in every two/three months and it is on those one to two week visits do we get to see our two year old baby brother.

Its kind of sad you know, because I'm missing out on all the major things in his life.
Last time I saw him, he could only say 'baby' and 'Amna' and 'Peacock' [Thankyou, Katy Perry.] But this time? WOOOWWW.
His vocab has like TRIPLED!
He can say all sorts of things now which is great and shit except, HE REFUSES TO SAY MY NAME!
The sister who has done the most for him, the sister who has taken care of him like her OWN GODAMN CHILD. AAARRGH.
Its so frustrating since hes picking up millions of new words, for example, he knows he has to call our grandmother 'Nano' and hes learned my little five year old cousins name- Rabi- well he calls her Yabi, but still okay?
AND THE WORST PART- He knows my other sisters' names PERFECTLY! Which is a fact they obviously take great pleasure in.

Sister1: Ibrahim! Say 'Amna'!
Ibrahim: Amna!
Me: Ibrahim?! Say 'Sadi'!
Ibrahim: AMNA!
Me: No baby, Sadi! Sa- Di! Say Sadi?
Ibrahim: AMNA!
Me: IBRAHIM SAY SADI!
Ibrahim: *giggles* Amna.

Sister2: Ibrahim, say 'Mina'?
Ibrahim: Mina!
Me: Ibrahiiiim SAY SADII?
Ibrahim: AMNA!

Usually at that point I just give up.

BUT TODAY I TRIED HARDER.

I tried to bribe him with a Sprite from my Happy Meal and then some Jelly O's. But although I got him to say 'TA' and 'DI' [breakup of 'Sa' and 'Di'] he just would NOT put them together.
SO. FRUSTRATING.

In other news- I JUST HAVE TWO EXAMS LEFT!
Then the Summer Scene is totally meeeaaan babay.

I have a ton of things planned- first of all, be expecting a LOT of book reviews. I've written quite a few and I'll be posting them up periodically.
My to-be-read pile is GINORMOUS and filled with a number of really, really awesome books, which I will def be telling you all about, so stay tuned for that!
And then there is my trip to Karachi!
I have not been there since January and I cannot wait to hit Sunday Bazar, meet all my friends and attend the Farewell/Prom, just like last year.

Gonna be FUNFUNFUN.

Before I go... guys? You have LESS THAN A WEEK TO ENTER MY GIVEAWAY, if you have not done so already. So what in the world are you waiting for? Win a BOOK and really delicious candy-and-berry TEA and a MUG! Click here.

Until next time,

Another Award! And GIVEAWAY!

Yup, I won another award from Kanwal from Kanwalful Meets World!
I'm passing it on to: 1. The Story Siren 2. Jessi from The Musings of A Wannabe Star 3. Chick Lit Teens 4. Cafe Fashionista 5. Saleeha from This Blog Doesn't Have a Name Because The Author Isn't Creative Enough To Come Up With On. 6. Sara Hassan All of these bloggers are as trendy as you can get. In other news, guess what, I have SIXTEEN followers now! Yeah. I know. I'm famous. Anyway so to celebrate, I decided to, [what else?] HAVE A GIVEAWAY! And this is what I'm giving away:
Yup, you got it folks! One healthy, one year old boy! Well, hes supposed to be my brother, but sometimes his super cuteness [read: the ability to pee in my room again and again] REALLY annoys me. For example, lets take yesterday. So, at the moment, he has a rash like all babies do, (at some point in their teeny years), and so my mom and the massi [maid] had literally let him roam around butt naked in the whole house. Remember when I told you my sisters had taken over my room, and I dont have a room anymore? Well, looks like this little guy decided to mark his territory on- drum roll please- my BED, yesterday. It was a pretty scarred-for-life moment. At one instance I was happily watching Lost on my HP, the other, I heard this light tinkling sound [I kid you not] and he was finely spraying my bed with Pee. Then I got really mad because I had SPECIFICALLY told her [the massi] not to let the baby in without a diaper, cause guess what, he also has an upset tummy. Thank God there was nothing of the number two variety happening, or I would have seriously lost it. Later, when I picked him up and tried to give him a cuddle, he slapped me in the face with his plastic keys as hard as he could. Dude. THAT. FREAKING. HURT. Ibrahim, to his credit, just looked at me and laughed. Babies are evil.
Anyway, if you win him, here are some things you need to know.
  • If Iboo cries and you canNOT make him stop:
Ibrahim listening to Lady Gaga's Bad Romance, after throwing a baby tantrum.
Some good music will do the trick.
  • Ibrahim loves Ice cream and Lollipops.
and also, flip flops.
  • Ibrahim enjoys rides in his personal carriage.
  • But above all, Ibrahim excels at being adorable.
Dont you just wanna eat me up? Well, thats all for now folks. If you wanna win this mini hunk, all you gotta do is leave a comment! Good Luck to you all! xoxo CLG
