In My Mailbox! (1) aka Book Haul (4)

In My Mailbox is a meme created by the Story Siren. Its basically a 'book haul' sort post, but features books one has received during the week or month for review, as giveaway prizes, or books one had bought him/herself.

Books I bought from Readings this week:

  1. A Great And Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
  2. Milkrun by Sarah Mlynowski
  3. As Seen On TV by Sarah Mlynowski
  4. Turn Me On by Cherie Jeffrey

Books I received from the publishers for review:

  1. Voyance by Rhonda Brutt
  2. The Virgin Diaries

(Click on the titles to know more about them.)

Quite a wonderful week isn't it? I bought the Readings' books for a total of five hundred rupees only! Was super excited to find the Libba Bray book for just 150 rupees.

What books did you buy/read this week?

The Lahore International Book Fair 2012 (book haul)

The 26th Lahore International Book Fair 2012 was held between 3rd and 7th Feb. I obviously went and got a few books from there.
The two main book sellers there, the ones selling a ton of YA books as well as others were Liberty Books and Readings. I was presently surprised to see so many well known titles finally in Pakistan!
I just wish they were better organized and the books weren't that expensive. *sigh*

Since it was a book fair, a lot of book sellers were offering tiny discounts to promote their stalls.
Liberty Books had a whole table where brand new books were offered for as little as a hundred rupees (a bit more than a dollar) to 300 rupees. I bought three good books from that table.
Over all, all their books had 15% off, just for those days. I got another book for 845 rupees, which yes, is quite a lot, but I really, really wanted it- I LOVE Cecilia Ahern!

I was extremely happy to see the wide variety of young adult books at both Liberty Books and Readings. Readings, especially had SO many well known titles!

They had Perfect Chemistry!

@Readings. Look! Melissa Marr!

Amy Plum! Sarah Dessen! That Forbidden book everyones been raving about!

Books I bought: [click on a title to find out more about it.]

Anatomy Of A Boyfriend
Summer Boys
Slumgirl Dreaming: Rubina's Journey. [a book about the little girl in Slumdog Millionaire]
The Time Of My Life

Slumgirl not pictured here.

Liberty books is a bookstore based in Karachi. It is, however going to open up a shop here in Lahore too, sometime this year. Readings is solely a Lahore book shop. I'm planning to go thoroughly review it for the blog one of these days, so stay tuned for that!

Book Haul! (2)

So I went to Sunday Bazaar- and tucked away in a shelf at one of the book stalls I found the most beautiful things a YA Pakistani book blogger dreams of: HARDCOVER. ALMOST PERFECT CONDITION. RECENT YA BOOKS!

I died and went to heaven for a bit then.

I bought all four of these for less than 10$.

I've been dying to read them all!
Click on the covers below to know more about 'em.

Now, I shall leave you with a wonderful song and skedaddle.
Misfits is on in two.

Big Fat BOOK HAUL. OH YEEEEAHHH.

So in the book blogging world, people usually call posts like these, 'In My Mailbox' posts, its a 'meme' made by The Story Siren.

BUT, 'book haul' sounds so much more fun.

So, now, before you eye orgasm out at seeing the lovely pile of books, [- yes, PILE! :D], I want you to know, I'll be having a giveaway for my Paki readers soon!
Comment on this post telling me which book you'd like to win out of the pile, and just maybe, if you're lucky that book will be up for grabs!

Anyway, without further ado, here are the new additions to my growing to-be-read pile:

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaahh, you like that? ;3

These books above are old books and new ones mixed up.  I got some from Galaxy Books and some from Readings- both in Lahore.

AND THEY WERE SO CHEAP.
It was heaven.

Then there are the super-brand-new books below, which were more expensive but I made my mom buy them for me anyway because I want to go to Karachi and I didn't because of stupid reasons and I was sad.

Glossy, beauties.

Here are some more pictures of some closeups:

I bought some of the above for my sisters, though I probably will re-read the ones I've already read- and obv the rest.
Is there any particular book you'd like to be reviewed first? Let me know! And I'll try to push it up on my TBR list.
